For each brand, we asked 3 purchase-intent queries (e.g., "best robot vacuum 2026") across all 4 platforms. We recorded whether the brand was mentioned, its ranking position, and which competitors appeared.

Only 11% of domains are cited by both ChatGPT and Perplexity. They're essentially different search engines with different results.
If you're a new brand: Focus on Perplexity first. Create fresh content, post on Reddit, and you can appear within days. ChatGPT will take months.
If you're an established brand: You're probably already visible on ChatGPT and Gemini. Check Claude and Perplexity — you might be missing from their results.
If you're a Chinese brand: Perplexity is your best bet. It uses real-time search and is less biased toward Western brands. ChatGPT is the hardest to crack.
